Resolving Common Honkai: Star Rail Error Codes

If you encounter an error code when starting or playing Honkai: Star Rail, please find the corresponding code below for Troubleshooting Steps.

Error Code 2002-0-0?

This error may occur for different reasons. Please follow the steps for your specific situation.

Situation 1: For users with Intel 13th/14th Gen Core i7/i9 or equivalent overclocked CPUs

Decompression errors on these systems can be resolved by manually underclocking your CPU. After underclocking, retry the update from the launcher’s game details page.

  • Method 1: Disable Overclocking in BIOS. Disable all overclocking settings, including "AI" or "Auto" features, which are typically found in the Advanced or Overclocking menus.
  • Method 2: Reduce Maximum Clock Rate. Lower the maximum clock rate via your BIOS settings or Intel XTU. Consider these adjustments:
    • For i9-137900K: Reduce the maximum P-core multiplier from 55X to 53X.
    • For i9-14900K: Reduce the maximum P-core multiplier from 60X to 54X.
    • Lower the maximum turbo boost clock rate.
    • Disable or reduce "Thermal Velocity Boost."

Situation 2: For all other users

Follow these steps to use our repair tool:

  1. Download and extract the repair tool: https://autopatchos.starrails.com/client/client/hoyoplay/StarRail_HoyoPlay_Repair_1.2.5.zip
  2. Run “rpg_launcher_res_check.exe” to perform the check.
  3. After the check is complete, retry the update from the launcher’s game details page.
  4. If the update fails, run the repair tool again before retrying.
  5. If the problem persists, try downloading the game to a different hard drive.

The repair tool can be deleted after the update is successful.

Error Code 2000_0

For PC:

  • Click the Update button on the login screen to verify file integrity.
  • If the issue continues, try switching to a different network.
  • As a final step, you can clear the game's Windows Registry entry. To do this, press Win + R, type regedit, and navigate to Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Cognosphere\Honkai: Star Rail to delete the folder.

For Android/iOS:

  • Tap the Update button on the login screen to verify file integrity.
  • If the problem persists, try reinstalling the game.

Error Code 4214

This error indicates a network connection issue.

  • If you are on Wi-Fi, switch to a mobile data connection to check if the error resolves.
  • If the error only occurs on Wi-Fi, perform a factory reset on your router and ensure its firmware is updated. A factory reset is different from a restart; consult your router's manual for instructions.

Error Codes (1,107,x) or (1,5,433): General Error

Please restart the game and try again.

Error Codes (8002), (1,2,0), (1,4,577), (2,0,1), (2,0,2), (2,0,3), or (2,0,4): Corrupted Files

Your game files may be corrupted. Please uninstall and reinstall the game completely.

Error Codes (1,4,2), (1,5,2), or (1,1,0): Missing Driver Files

Antivirus software may be interfering with game files.

  1. Temporarily disable or uninstall your antivirus software.
  2. Use the launcher's repair function to restore the missing files.
  3. If the problem continues, uninstall and reinstall the game.

Error Code (1,107,126): Missing Local Files

Use the launcher's repair function to restore missing game files. Alternatively, uninstall and reinstall the game.

Error Code (1,4,5): Antivirus Interference

Your antivirus software may be blocking the game. Add HoYoKProtect.sys and StarRail.exe, located in the game's installation directory, to your antivirus software's exception list. If the issue persists, try temporarily disabling or uninstalling your antivirus software.

Error Code (1,107,0): CPU Compatibility Issue

This error may occur on 13th or 14th Gen Intel CPUs. Try one of the following solutions in your computer's BIOS settings:

  • Disable E-cores (Efficient-cores).
  • Disable Hyper-Threading.
  • Lower the CPU frequency.

Error Code (1,4,1084): Safe Mode Detected

The game cannot be launched in Safe Mode. Please exit Safe Mode and restart your computer before running the game.

Error Code (1,5,8): Insufficient Memory

Restart your computer to free up memory resources, then launch the game again.

Error Codes (1,5,1238) or (3,0,0): Multiple Instances Detected

The game does not support running multiple instances. Close any background game processes using the Task Manager or restart your computer.

Error Code (5,85001,3500): Sandbox Environment Detected

The game cannot be run in a sandbox environment. Please launch the game from your main operating system.

Error Code (5,4,x): Virtual Machine Detected

The game cannot be run in a virtual machine. Please launch the game from your main operating system.
