Troubleshooting Steps
Situation 1: Use the Resource Check Tool
- Download and extract the tool from this link: https://hoyo.link/fkXhl2pi0
- Completely exit the game launcher.
- Double-click to run the "rpgcn_launcher_res_check.exe" file from the extracted folder.
- Relaunch the game launcher and click to start the game or retry the update.
Situation 2: Manually Download and Install the Game Package
Important: The PC game package is large. We recommend using a stable network connection for the download.
- Download the full game package for your client:

- Once the download is complete, extract the game package.
- Locate the game files in the HoYoPlay Launcher:
- Pause the game download in the launcher.
- Click the button next to Paused and select Game Settings.
- Under basic information, select Relocate Game.
- Choose the folder containing the extracted "StarRail.exe" file.
- After relocating, you can start the game normally.
